Britain is out of the European Union after 47 years of membership. UK has quit a 28-nation bloc of almost half a billion people, which for decades has helped set rules for UK trade, farming, environment protection and much more. The break came at 11:00 pm London time on Friday (January 31, 2020). The two sides negotiated a deal that includes 11-month “transition period” in which relations will stay unchanged. The two sides have agreed to have an ambitions and flexible partnership including a free trade deal by December 31, 2020. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Brexit is a chance to spread hope and opportunity to every part of U.K.
